The cost for an initial CHL class is $100, including classroom instruction, range qualification, passport photos, notary public service, application assistance, and a printed copy of CHL-16, Texas Concealed Handgun Laws.

Although it is not mandatory, DPS strongly recommends that you apply for the CHL on line at their web site Click Here. Advantages are faster more accurate processing, and you can pay the application fee with a credit card, complete the affidavits on line, and schedule electronic fingerprinting. If you prefer to submit a paper application, I will have application packages available, when you attend the class.
