It is no longer necessary to request an application package from the DPS, instructors have packages available when you attend the class.
I recommend waiting at least 70 days after mailing your application package, before contacting the DPS:
1. Call the DPS's Concealed Handgun License Office at 512-424-7293, 512-424-7294, or 800-224-5744 (Be advised that the "800" number frequently does not work.)
